The Gate

I know.....it has been a very long time since I have posted anything. The sad part is I was looking thru the pictures on my camera. They go back all the way to Thanksgiving, and I did not post any of them. I will not try to go back and update on everything that has happened nor will I be posting all those pictures. I am going to try to add a slide show later and hopfully will have them on there.
What I wanted to post today, was a picture of our gate. Justin and Lindsay gave us a sign for the gate for Christmas. We have been trying to decide how we wanted to hang it. Well this weekend we finally did!

What do you think? I Love it!!!!

Not much else right now, we did finally get a boat, so we hope to start fishing...YEA!!!
Also I noticed on Amanda's ticker that she has on her blog that little Adah will be here in about 100 days....we are so excited.

Till next time (I will try not to take 4 mths) Love ya'll

I love Fall

It seems the cooler weather is getting here and I am so happy. The last couple of weekends we have been at the land we have not had to use the air conditioners at all. We have slept with the windows open and actually get very cold. I LOVE IT!!!

We went to the Hopkins County Stew Cookoff and to the Dutch Oven Cookoff the past two weekends. They were alot of fun. At the Stew Cookoff we tasted a couple of the different stews that were made and they were really good. There are also alot of different venders selling there items. Lots of homemade things, it was really nice to walk around and look at all the different ideas. The Dutch Oven had a few vendors but not as many, it was held at a place called Heritage Park, which is a bunch of orginal buildings from way back. There was the first church in Como, with the wooden pews and the organ, it was really cool. They also had the first general store with the orginal post office in the back, the first fire station, etc. It was really neat to walk thru all of it, the workers were dressed in that era also.

We seem to have a very big pig problem, we saw this when we first got the land, but thought they had gone away. Well I guess we were wrong. We are seeing where they have been out in the field tearing up the ground also. We are going to have to do something about them. Josh says he and Kristen will come hunt them, but the rate they are growing they may take over before that happens.

They seem to be there the same time every night....

I like this last one, that pig laid there for like 3 hours....

Well that's all for now.......

Just a quick update

Hello, not much going on, been really busy working....never seem to have enough time to sit down and blog. We took a quick trip east this weekend, because of Ike and all the rain we thought it best not to stay down there. We went down to move the chairs in and make sure everythng that could blow away was put away. We had a lot of rain here in Arlington today, and there was suppose to be more in Como, so I am glad we didn't stay. While we were there I was able to go out and check the camera, my feeder has not been working till last weekend so I haven't had any pictures to show.
This is what was on the camera......Josh, he is waiting on you...we can tell we have serveral around. There were no pictures of deer, but we do see alot of their prints so we know they are there.

Well, I guess that is it for now, next weekend is the fall festival in Sulpher Springs, they have a Hopkins County Stew Cookoff, lots of locals selling their crafts and a big quilt show. I will take some pictures so ya'll can see how much fun it is.
Take care.....Love ya'll

I KNOW!!!

Yea, I am bad about blogging....it just seems to take so long. We have been really busy, we were all able to get together on July 4Th and have a cookout (all but Amanda and Josh). Those pictures you probably saw on Lindsay's blog. Then Kelly and I went to California to see Amanda and Josh, we had a great time. Those pictures you saw on Amanda's blog. So see there is really no need for me to blog because everyone else does. Any way, not a lot to say this time but here are some pictures we have taken over the weeks....enjoy.

God does some beautiful work!
I work very hard out at our land to get the deer to come around. We walk out Amanda and Josh's apartment one day and here they come walking down the street. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I think this guy stayed like this the whole time we were there. We saw him everyday. That can't be comfortable.
As you can see, the seals are all down the edge of this pier. They are so noisy, and every where, I have never seen so many. I have a little video of them but I could not get it to load.
Back home, this is two very tired dogs after a day in the sun running around. They both love to go out to the land.
Through the hay.....
That's all for now this really takes a long time to do. I always say I am going to try and post more but, I won't promise that this time, I just never seem to have the time. Maybe if I did it more I would not have so much to post. Oh well, till next time.....Love ya

UPDATE

Well we got a little more done the past couple of weeks. Last weekend Kelly finished the upstairs window and some of the painting up high. But for some reason I forgot to take pictures of it. Could be because I was to tired after putting insulation in the down stairs. Kelly seems to find in humorous that he told me to be sure and wear gloves and long sleeves, but because I got so hot I had to take those off, well I found out why he kept saying "I wouldn't do that". It was very itchy.......

Other than working on the house, I decided since Josh is wanting to kill a hog, that I would see what I could do to bring some of them back onto our property since we haven't seen them in a few weeks. So I went to Bass Pro and got some "Hog Wild" and added it to the corn in the feeders. Below are the pictures we got....

babies...

So, as you can see, they are back. I am going to get some more "Hog Wild" to put out this weekend also.

I also bought some sunflower seeds, that I am going to plant next weekend towards the back of the property. And I got some bluebonnets, what I really want is a large field of just bluebonnets but Kelly says I can't have that because it probably wouldn't be good for the hay. So I am going to find me a place around the house that I can plant those.

We only went down there this weekend to make sure everything was ok. Since it has snowed here and been so cold it is really wet so we just stay at home. This coming weekend is suppose to be really nice so hopfully we will get some things done.

This shows you how wet it is down there, the creek is way out of its banks, this is by the feeder that never has water around it.
Till next time.....Amanda Happy Birthday again......We miss you and Josh, Justin and Lindsay you are to close for us to go this long with out seeing you...lets make some plans....Joshua hurry home, the hogs and fish are waiting....Ashley I see you everyday, I am so glad one of my children Love's to be around me. Just kidding Love and Praying for all of you, be safe...Love ya Mom
